How to Make the Most of the Available Space in Your Small Bathroom?

Having a small bathroom doesn’t mean you cannot do anything due to a lack of space. Many people have this misconception that a small bathroom limits creativity. They have to be satisfied with the bathroom without thinking about its renovation. But, the fact is you can do a lot of things in your small bathroom if you plan out strategically. Your small bathroom will look bigger and more beautiful.

How should you do it?

Decide the right position for the vanity

Positioning of the vanity matters in your small bathroom, which isn’t very important in a large bathroom as there is a lot of space. Preferably, you should place the vanity along the walls or corners as it doesn’t leave any extra gaps. This means no wasted space. With a vanity in the corner, you can put both the main mirror and side mirror on both walls of the corner.

Put a wall-mounted vanity

As the space is limited, getting a full freestanding vanity will not be a good choice. It will take the maximum floor space. The best option for small bathrooms is wall-mounted vanities. A wall-mounted vanity opens up the view of the floor space as well as makes the bathroom look bigger than it is.

Get a medicine cabinet

This is one of the best choices for small bathrooms. A medicine cabinet maximizes the small bathroom vanity space and is very functional as well as aesthetically pleasing. Majorly, a medicine cabinet is a good choice as it lets you hide all your bathroom items such as dental floss, toothpaste, toothbrush, and maybe first aid behind the mirror.

Install a large mirror above the vanity

A large mirror will take up more wall space but will create the illusion of a bigger bathroom. Yes, you read it right. Though your bathroom is small, it will look bigger with a large-sized mirror. But, make sure the mirror isn’t too large. Take accurate measurements of the wall before deciding the size of the mirror. Other than this, a large mirror is more efficient for daily use.

Make use of the bathroom walls

By adding more cabinets, you will get more storage space. You will have more options to store your things properly. But, as the bathroom is small, you cannot have too many cabinets. So, you should utilize your bathroom walls. Install towel racks, shelves, and wall-mounted cabinets near your bathroom vanity, freeing up the walking space in your bathroom.

Get a linen closet for storage

If you have a lot of people living in your house and all of them share the same bathroom, the chances of clutter buildup are very high. You see things falling everywhere in the bathroom because of its frequent use. You can resolve this issue by getting a linen closet. In the linen closet, you can store all your things inside, hidden from others.

Less space doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is how you use that space in your favor.
